Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist are formally set to launch their new album Alfredo 2 on July 25.
This announcement follows cryptic teasers and a particular advance screening of Alfredo: The Film in Los Angeles and the debut of the opening monitor, “1995.” Directed by Nick Walker and filmed in Japan, Alfredo: The Film gives a mysterious look into the Alfredo 2 universe. The movie portrays Gibbs and The Alchemist as companions navigating a gritty, stylized prison underworld, working from a ramen store whereas seemingly laundering cash. This cinematic reintroduction units a noir aesthetic with shadowy dealings and sharp lyricism.
