Set to unveil at Denmark’s annual design pageant, 3daysofdesign, Fredericia is reintroducing Nanna Ditzel’s iconic Bench for Two, greater than 30 years after its authentic debut in 1989. This sculptural and unconventional seating piece, celebrated for encouraging curiosity and connection, returns with a reissue that honors Ditzel’s visionary strategy to design.
Crafted in Denmark in collaboration with Danish furnishings model A. Petersen, the relaunch contains the unique black model, alongside three new vibrant colorways: purple, yellow and pink. These additions replicate Ditzel’s enduring fascination with daring coloration palettes and expressive kinds. The Bench for Two, with its placing graphic backrest that includes concentric circles and a single purple dot, originated from a spontaneous sketch Ditzel made immediately onto the prototype, additional showcasing her intuitive inventive course of.
Impressed by the fragile symmetry of butterflies, the bench evokes pure grace and ergonomic readability. Crafted from strong maple and veneer, it stays a technical and creative achievement. The accompanying desk is designed to enrich the angles of the bench completely, forming an intimate setting.
