
Threshold is an exploration of boundaries—these we face, these we break and people who confine us. Curated by Hypeart, this upcoming exhibition at Bonhams LA is a second of transition, a pause between the identified and the unknown, forcing us to confront our surroundings and our place inside it With works from Shepard Fairey, George Apartment, Beverly Pepper, Sam Gilliam and others, Threshold invitations viewers to have interaction with artwork that challenges conventions, blurs traces and forges new paths. The exhibition, on view from February 18-21, will study shifting boundaries in artwork and society.
In a charitable partnership, Hypeart and Bonhams has collaborated with Challenge Angel Meals to current works by Elizabeth Neel and Margo Wolowiec as a part of Threshold. The proceeds from the sale of those particular works, that are part of an upcoming public sale by Challenge Angel Meals, will immediately profit the charity’s mission to serve these affected by the LA wildfires.
Accompanying the exhibition is a panel dialogue and the much-anticipated launch of Fairey-isms, a e book by No Extra Rulers in collaboration with Princeton College Press, by founder Larry Warsh, that includes intimate interviews and insights from famend avenue artist Shepard Fairey.
