Awich joined forces with FERG for her RZA-produced single, “Butcher Store.”
The minimize is a mix of American and Japanese hip-hop, with Awich describing it as “a spot the place three of my realities intersect.” She specified Okinawa, the place she was born and raised, Tokyo, the place she lives now and New York, FERG’s house.
“Along with a legend like RZA and a real embodiment of the streets like FERG, we minimize by means of the noise with sharp phrases and beats to seize the spirit of this borderless period,” the queen of Japanese rap added. “This music is a crossroads—Japan and NYC, tradition and trend, luxurious and play, sin and consequence. Everybody brings their very own ‘meat’ to the desk, and we slice into the reality. Welcome to our Butcher Store.”
