Caliper, a Madrid-based industrial design and fabrication studio, has partnered with Alaska Alaska for the tenth installment of its Editions Programme. This collaboration has produced the AA67 Speaker, a sculptural bookshelf speaker meticulously designed by Alaska Alaska and expertly produced by Caliper. A part of a broader furnishings sequence that features a speaker shelf, couch, desk, bench and shelving unit, this cohesive assortment initially debuted at CAPSULE PLAZA throughout Milan Design Week in 2024.
Rooted in Alaska Alaska’s ethos of reinterpreting which means and recontextualizing iconic kinds, the AA67 Speaker attracts inspiration from Slovenian designer Saša Mächtig’s famend K67 Kiosk. The result’s a daring but practical object, produced as a 25-piece, made-to-order version. It’s out there in eight colorways: white, pink, inexperienced, black, grape, blue, gray and orange.
The Editions Programme marks Caliper’s first public providing. Traditionally centered on serving skilled purchasers as a hyperlink between business and the design world, Caliper created this system to assist collaborators in bringing technically advanced or financially constrained ideas to life.
