The Federal Communications Fee has alerted the Walt Disney Firm and its ABC unit that it’ll start an investigation into the range, fairness and inclusion efforts on the media large.
The FCC, the company that regulates the media and telecommunications business, mentioned in a letter dated Friday that it desires to “be certain that Disney and ABC haven’t been violating FCC equal employment alternative laws by selling invidious types of DEI discrimination.”
“We’re reviewing the Federal Communications Fee’s letter, and we look ahead to partaking with the fee to reply its questions,” a Disney spokesperson informed CNBC.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, who was just lately appointed by President Donald Trump, started an analogous investigation into Comcast and NBCUniversal in early February. The inquiry comes after Trump signed an government order seeking to finish DEI practices at U.S. companies in January.
