After a 10-year absence, Amsterdam-based studio DRIFT is again at Milan Design Week with a brand new set up created in partnership with Audi. Titled Drift Us, the work is a part of Audi’s Home of Progress program and is put in within the courtyard of the Portrait Milano Lodge.
The interactive piece responds to guests’ actions, simulating the impact of wind throughout a area. As folks stroll via, robotic parts shift in sync, turning every step into a visual drive. The aim is to focus on how people form their atmosphere via movement.
