
Barry McGee introduced a West Coast follow-up to his latest New York present, ‘Cherry Choosing.’ Titled ‘Cherry Pit,’ the sprawling presentation is tucked away in The Gap’s artwork storage. The present includes a slew of McGee’s personal work, items from his assortment and contributions from over 50 artists.
For Frieze Week in LA, McGee has additionally organized a zine honest on the gallery. McGee’s work, drawings, and mixed-media installations discover the complexities of city life, reflecting themes of transience and outsider communities. Launched to graffiti at 18, he gained recognition underneath the tag Twist, portray hobo figures, liquor bottles, and industrial motifs throughout metropolis partitions and subway vehicles.
