Nine Highlights of Liverpool Biennial 2025


 

The UK’s largest free pageant of up to date visible artwork, Liverpool Biennial runs till 14 September 2025. Its thirteenth version, ‘BEDROCK’reconsiders the town as a spot the place modern artwork engages with current foundations – each geological and social – drawing inspiration from the sandstone which underpins Merseyside and is continuously present in its iconic structure, in addition to recognizing the various communities which have contributed to Liverpool.

Walker Artwork Gallery

A bunch present together with works by Isabel Nolan (Kerlin Gallery) and Jennifer Tee (Tina Kim Gallery), amongst others.

Tate + RIBA North

A bunch exhibition together with Sheila Hicks (Alison Jacques Gallery), Fred Wilson (Tempo Gallery), Mounira Al Solh (Sfeir-Semler Gallery) and Christine Solar Kim (François Ghebaly).

Open Eye Gallery

A 3-person present of lens-based work and sculpture together with Widline Cadet (Nazarian / Curcio).

20 Jordan Avenue

A sculptural and sonic set up by Cevdet Erek (mor charpentier) impressed by the environment, aesthetics and aural panorama of soccer stadiums.

Liverpool Cathedral

An set up responding to the structure of the constructing and the birds that nest within the space round it by Maria Loizidou (Kalfayan Galleries).

FACT

Installations together with an ode to city pests by Kara Chin (Linseed Initiatives).

Central Library

An set up by Dawit L. Petros (Tiwani Modern) within the constructing’s historic Hornby Library, responding to imperial archives and legacies of colonialism.

Throughout City

Don’t miss everlasting artworks throughout the town from previous Biennials, reminiscent of ‘Liverpool Mountain’ by Ugo Rondinone (Sadie Coles HQ) and ‘Dazzle Ferry’ by Sir Peter Blake (Waddington Custot)
